I have a webcam running at my house to take pictures of an area across the street to day it captured two photos that I found kind of interesting so I’m going to share them.

Well due to a lazy Sunday afternoon I created a widget for OSX.  I’m not really even proud of it; I did it in less than 5 minutes because Dashcode is way to simple.  But anyway it’s a small widget that shows the current episode of Diggnation on the dashboard.  If you use it leave a comment.  Like I said I did it in 5 minutes and I’m not proud of it, its nothing but a default template with a third-party link added.  Click here to get it.

I recently got a new laptop computer.  Its about time to be honest my last one lasted for 5+ years, the only thing that was wrong with it was the battery had been used to the point a charge would only hold for a few minutes.  It was a nice Dell IInspiron 8200 and it did the job for what I need at the time but with school and all I needed a little bit more power in the mobile computer.  With that I purchased a 15" 2.4GHz MacBook Pro. 

This is the first time I have ever truly used a Mac and so far I like it, I still like Linux a lot more but OSX is close to Linux so I can live with it.   After I had received my new MacBook Pro I used it for about 2 days doing all the cool stuff like playing with photo booth, iPhoto, iMovie and what not until it died.  I don’t mean a kernel panic or anything that a simple reboot would fix; I mean would not turn on any more.  So I took it to the local Apple Store to see what was up with it where the guy told me it was a brick and I needed to send it back.  I did so and about 3 weeks latter I now have my new laptop.  Other than the fact it took me almost a month to get a working computer I still like it, there’s nothing like getting a new computer when you truly need one.

Well my adventures in the world of computers has been speeding and slowing down. At the old office I just finished up my task of setting up all the computers to be on a domain to make my life easier and all the co-workers as well. I was hit with a bit of resistance at first, but so far everyone has liked it a lot more. Due to the fact we have people coming and going so much, my next project has become the creation of a user management system. So far it is made up of a few hacked together ruby scripts that allows a new person to request an account and a IP address thats about it. Well I think thats about it, my next post will be on how I made the list of every city and town in the US.

I have to say that Sweeny Todd is the best movie I have seen in a long time.  As far as I’m concerned you can’t put Johnny Depp in a movie directed by Tim Burton and not get a wonderful movie.  Enjoy the trailer that is posted below to get a peak at this wonderful film, the trailer does not do the film justice.  You must go pick this one up!!
